There are times when I think that I would like to sleep late. However, the longer I have to get up early, the earlier I seem to wake up each day. After a while, sleeping "late" means sleeping until my alarm goes off! If I manage to sleep until 7 a.m. I'm impressed with myself. Or something is wrong.
Sleeping late around here, for me, would leave me missing a whole lot of good stuff. For example, were I to sleep late enough that the boys were up also, I'd miss out on being in charge of the remote for the tv all by myself. I'd miss out on quiet snuggle time with the animals. I'd miss out on total quiet, should I want it. I'd miss out on being able to wake slowly, gather my thoughts for the day, play Words With Friends! : )
When I come home from work, most days, I have the opportunity to do all of those things, too. At least during school time. But, the afternoon alone time isn't nearly as nice as the first thing in the morning time alone. The dogs are still sleepy and not wanting to go right out the door. I'm still in my comfy jammies and all snuggly warm. I read/watch the news, but I avoid the "heavy" stuff first thing in the morning. I check out Facebook, emails, try to remember what I need to do that day!
Yep, even tho I often claim to not be a "morning person", I sure do enjoy my quiet starts to my days. So much better than jumping out of bed, rushing around to not be late, worrying and scrambling. Whew.
The only thing better than starting a day off like today, is starting a day off like today on the weekend. Then the ending time of the beginning of the day has no set official time. : )
Enjoy the start to your day today!
You have fun with that! I'll take the sleep, thank you very much! ;o)
ReplyDeleteAm so blessed to be able to pray for your family!
Psalms 31:14-16 But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God. My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me. Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies' sake.
Have tomorrow off! Ed and I are going to go out for breakfast as my last birthday celebration. We usually go to The Keg, a steak house, for all our special meals, but...decided it's my birthday and I love eating breakfast out the most! Besides...it costs a lot less!
ReplyDeleteThe Lord uses everything that happens for a purpose. Praying!
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Good eats! Had leftovers for dinner, too! And used my free birthday drink at Starbucks...guess my birthday celebration is officially over.
ReplyDeleteSo thankful for the assurance we have in Christ! Praying!
1 John 1:1-4 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
Hope this beautiful Gospel passage gives you comfort! Lifting up prayers right now!
ReplyDeleteTitus 3:4-7 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Still praying hard in Seattle!
ReplyDeletePsalms 34:4, 6-7 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. (6-7) This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

ReplyDeletePsalms 34:17-19 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
I think you have a serious Words with Friends addiction! ;o)

Psalms 91:1-2, 4 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. (4) He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Whatever the Lord allows to happen in your life, He'll get you through! Praying right now!
ReplyDeletePsalms 91:9-12 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

ReplyDeletePsalms 91:14-15 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
I'm here praying right now.
ReplyDeletePsalms 116:1-5 I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. Then called I upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul. Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.
Feeling kinda lonely over here!

Isaiah 25:4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
Know that you're in my thoughts and prayers!
ReplyDeleteIsaiah 25:8-9 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
