Random Success

IF you are reading this, well then, my day has started off in a very good way! However, if none of you are reading this, then it means that I'm unable to post again and I've resorted to crying on the couch with a bottle of wine! heheeee

These are some pretty random pictures, but since I'm not totally sure that this will post, I'm not going to a whole lot of effort here. : ( Sorry. Let's hope that this keeps working and that we can all be happy with better posts in the future!

So, that's Buddy up there, sporting his summer hair cut and keeping guard over the front porch. He may be small, but believe me, no one is coming in this house without us knowing about it! He does not like people coming in his house! He might accept you once you are in, but that whole door opening, people coming through the door things, well, he is beyond vocal about that event!!!

Amber, Amy, and Chris. Amy and Chris are enjoying some of Granny's birthday cake. Amber is very seriously studying the laptop about something or other. All huddled together at one end of the giant table!

Hangin on the front porch. Granny may have a jacket on in this picture... and it was only a couple of weeks ago..... but see those candles in this picture? Those candles migrated outdoors and stayed on that table, where they succumbed to the intense heat that has been hanging around here lately. The table that they are sitting on is now very nicely glazed with a light covering of wax, from the melting candles! I know, I know.... how easy would it have been to pick up those two candles and bring them back into the house? Obviously harder than it sounds, since it didn't get done! Oh well. That's how it goes.

We had a kitten show up here last weekend. I don't have any pictures of her, yet. We're not looking for another pet. And, for the first time, with a new animal in the house, Taltos the cat is having a fit! If he were a teenage person, he'd be slamming doors and back-talking and pouting horribly! The other day he came into the living room, looked at the kitten (who was sitting beside me), turned around and literally stalked out of the room. He was meowing, in not such a good way, all the way through 3 rooms as he walked away. I've never seen or heard my cat act like that! We've had quite a few animals come and go over the years as we've had Taltos and this is by far the most upset he's ever been at another critter being here. Perhaps he's just getting old and cranky...... poor baby. He's still the king and who knows yet what the fate of this little kitten will be. She sure is a sweat heart though!

I'm in day number 2 of a bit of a vacation. The dr. is on vacation this week, which means some days off for me. I will work for a few hours tomorrow, at the office, taking care of whatever needs to be taken care of. One of us is in the office during normal hours this week to answer the phones etc. Tomorrow is my day. : )

Yesterday Mom and I went to Iowa City to shop for clothes for Amber's wedding. We had success! We took Amy with us.... she's on vaca this week, too!!!! We met up with Chris for lunch, got way, way to silly at the mall, and met up with Amber and Dustin when they were done with Dustin's dr. appt in IA City. It was sooooo much fun!

Today I'm hanging at home. There is laundry calling my name and since I stocked up on crafting stuff yesterday, I've got lots of projects to work on. The boys are gone this week, too, so it's just me and the critters here while Bruce is at work. Oh.... the possibilities for me to get into trouble!!! heheeeeee Lets just hope it's not too rough of a week for me. : )

Isaiah 43:1-3a But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel...
