That's Jordan there, smiling around the lamp. He was a happy camper that day! However, today, he came home, from walking home from school, with an Owwwwie. Sigh.
Almost 4 years ago Jordan had a run in with a dog. The dog won and Jordan got 5 stitches in his knee. 2 weeks to the day later, Jordan and the dog had another run in. Again, the dog won. Only this time, there wasn't skin to stitch, as there was just a hole. It was packed and cleaned and on our way we went. It was Jordan's birthday the 2nd time the dog won. Of course, Jordan won in the long run, as the dog is no longer with us and Jordan is!
You may be wondering what in the world something that happened almost 4 years ago has to do with what happened today. I'm gonna tell you!
Jordan fell down while walking home from school today. (He gets his gracefulness from his Mother, too) He came in the house, muddy and wet and saying, "I popped open where I had stitches on my knee". It was all covered in mud and I didn't believe him, so I just told him to go and wash his leg and let me see.
Well goodness. I've never seen anything quite like that! The scar from the dog bite and stitches had indeed popped open! It wasn't really bleeding, but it was ugly. And looked to be full of dirt to me. I couldn't get the dirt out.
Here is where working for a doctor, even at 4 o'clock in the afternoon comes in handy. I called the office, we went right over, Jordan got cleaned up and steri-stripped and all fixed up. The main difference between this time and 4 years ago was that Jordan wasn't screaming his lungs out the whole time and the sheriff department wasn't involved! (Dog bites get you lots of attention, whether you want it or not!)
So, as we were sitting there, waiting for the doc to come do his thing, I looked at Jordan and said, "Well, it seems you've gotten my luck. If it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen to you!" My mom was with us and said "OH NO!!! Life certainly has gotten more interesting since you guys live across the way now!!"
So, here we are, making life more interesting, across the way. Guess there are times that "interesting" is just the way we roll!!!!
You've shared with me! Exersaucer-1, me-0...tripped over it today. Left knee...left pinky...both upset!

ReplyDelete1 John 1:1-4 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
The Lord is with you right now, lifting you up, giving you strength! Always praying!
ReplyDeleteIsaiah 40:28-31 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
You didn't get it to work, huh? Hope you figure this out soon!

Psalms 28:1-2 Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit. Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.

ReplyDeleteIsaiah 25:8-9 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
