Holiday Peacefulness

I have accomplished more today, as far as getting ready for Christmas, than I have in the past several weeks combined.  It's been rush, rush, rush around here.  Crazy.  But, today, I'm home alone.  Day number 4 of my antibiotics for my stomach infection, so I'm starting to feel better.  I am getting things done!  Gifts are wrapped and tagged and either under the tree or boxed up ready to go elsewhere.  Decorations are finally, almost, all in place.  Cookies and candies are being created in my kitchen.  Of course, there are boxes sitting around, emptied of their Christmas treasures, that need to be tucked away somewhere for a couple of weeks.  I do still have some gifts to buy.....remember... I'm one of those people who refuse to shop on Black Friday.  Combine that with my stomach issues, my full time job as a chauffeur to teenagers, my part time paying job,  and my inclination to be a procrastinator, and I'm a weeee little bit behind the Christmas schedule this year!  But, ya know what?  Christmas isn't here yet.  I have time!  The stores are still selling things, believe it or not.  My oven, mixer, and cookie sheets haven't gone into retirement just yet.  The Christmas lights haven't burnt out, the stockings haven't fallen off of their hooks, there is still egg nog to drink, sewing to do, and plenty of Christmas music to listen to and sing along to.  I have time.

Which means, that now that all of the gifts here have been wrapped and the baking is pretty much done, I am going to enjoy some Holiday Peacefulness.  Right here in my chair, beside the Christmas tree, with a cat keeping my legs warm and no one else here at all.  Peace.  I'll take it.  I'll enjoy it.  And be all the more ready for Christmas to be here when the day is done.

I wish for you some Holiday Peacefulness of your own.  Blessings.

  1. Hope you had a wonderful time enjoying the peace! Am listening to Christmas music right now...couldn't handle listening to the news anymore.
Know that you're always in my prayers!
2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

  2. Checking in to see how you're doing and to let you know I'm still praying!
Psalms 73:23-26 Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

  3. Oh the comfort of knowing that this life isn't all there is! Whatever happens, look to the Lord and His free gift of salvation! Praying hard!
John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

  4. Praying right now!
Isaiah 26:3-4 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.

  5. Praying in Seattle!
Psalms 32:6-7 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

  6. Whatever lies ahead, the Lord is with you! Always praying hard!
Psalms 32:8, 10-11 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. (10-11) Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about. Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.
