In that mass of leaves and vines are oodles and oodles of pumpkins. They are small pumpkins, as the pumpkin seeds were from a small pumpkin, however their small size is what has probably allowed there to be so darn many of them in this summer of the drought.
It has been both record breakingly hot and dry this summer. In so many places! This pumpkin patch of ours gets lots of bright morning sun, then is shaded by the house in the afternoon. It also does get quite a bit of help from us, in the way of watering. My tomato plant has died. My pepper plants yielded only tiny little peppers and my eggplants are not much larger than the size of an egg. But this pumpkin is going gang busters! I'm really looking forward to the vines and the leaves starting to whither and die, so that we can really see how many pumpkins are hidden in there. And think of all of the fun things that I can do with those little ol' pumpkins! It's going to be so much fun! : )
I had to throw in a picture of my dear, sweet Chester doggie. He hasn't spent a whole lot of time outside this summer. It's been just too darn hot for him. We got him an umbrella, that shades his area of the yard, but even then he hasn't liked it outside so much. He will stay outside if I'm out there, but he's become pretty much a mama's doggie the past few months. He is such a wonderful old dog! I don't mind him hanging around me at all!
School will finally start here this Thursday, for Jonah. Jordan will not start for another week and a day yet. The construction process at the high school is behind schedule, so classes there don't start until the 4th of Sept. It has been a long, long summer. ; )
And now it's almost Fall. Keokuk Chief football started last Friday and it's game week for those Iowa Hawkeyes! (Time to start teaching Parker all about football! After all, he is almost 2 months old! I sure can't have my grandson not knowing about football!) It's time for marching band and band contests and parades and more football! I do love Fall!
I've started a whole new kind of crafting. The sewing machine and I do need to get re-acquainted, but for now I've been experimenting with cold porceline. I love it! Found the recipe on line and am now making all kinds of neat little porceline type things that I'm using to decorate other things. I'll share those when I get some finished up and take some pictures.
Thats about it for now from here. I do thank you for stopping by. Take care.... until the next time.
Cold porceline? You'd better get some pics up here! Want to see what you're doing!

Psalms 130:1-2, 5-7 Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD. Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications (5-7) I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning. Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.
