Wedding week

Beautiful bride!

Only 3 full days left before wedding day.  3.  Less than half a week.

There is still a record heat wave going on.  It's going to end.

My car is in the shop.  It will be fixed.

I've forgotten a couple of things.  My mom remembered to remind me and they will get done.

Bruce wrecked his truck last weekend. But, he is OK, is still employed, and now has time off for the wedding.

I think that I've started about one hundred and sixty five lists........ of what needs to be done, what needs to be packed to take to the motel with us, the last few things that I need to pick up, the things that I need to make/bake/take to different wedding week activities, and yet, even with all of those lists, I haven't much got a clue what I'm doing.  : )    I'm an awesome list maker.  Not so much of an awesome"list keeper track of" or list follower.  I'm one of those people who needs a list to keep track of my lists!  It's a vicious circle, I tell you!

Such a cute couple!

However, I don't need a list to remind me of the most important events of the week.

Thursday.... My brother, Lee, my sister in law, Julie, and my niece, Megan, will be arriving from Oregon.  There will be, of course, a meal, shared between the two houses here.  I'm sure there will be games.  We'll fill up the pool, such as it is.  The fire pit will be fired up, along with the grill, and a soooooper doooooper time will be had by all.  : )

My Mother's Day gift is getting a good work out!

Let the games begin!

Friday is decorating for the reception and rehearsal day.  Christopher's awesome mom, Jan, has invited ALL out of town family members to the rehearsal dinner.  How cool is that???  Our wacky  (and I do mean that in the bestest way ever!) family will be rolling in from everywhere .... both coasts get covered at this event..... and we'll be giggling and laughing and enjoying our reunions.  Friday is also my mom's 76th birthday.  Do ya really think I'm gonna let the day go by without throwing a little sumthin-sumthin in to acknowledge that event?  Heck no!

Still going strong!

Saturday.  The absolute highlight of the week!  Chris and Amy will get married!  : )  It will be a beautiful, blessed, awesome ceremony.  Then, we'll celebrate at the reception, and do more giggling and laughing and dancing and enjoying and it will be beyond wonderful.
Party hats at the reception might not be a bad idea!

Hmmmmm...... maybe not cigars at this wedding, at least not for me!

I'm sure there will be plenty of dancing!

Sunday we'll wind down and have more fun.  We'll talk and laugh and enjoy the day.

Oh!  I'm so looking forward to the rest of this wedding week!

Then, after 3 weddings in 3 years, we will have a wedding break.  No more weddings for a while.   We'll have to find other reasons to celebrate and laugh and giggle and have fun and get together.  I'm pretty sure we'll do just fine!!!!

Oh yeah, and we'll start enjoying getting to have babies join our family.  I cannot wait!  : )

Tiny grandbaby.  He will be joining us in July.

  1. Didn't think you'd have a chance to post this week! you forgot one thing on your list of things to do...maybe two things: 1st BREATHE!!!!!!!!!!! and 2nd HAVE THE BESTEST TIME EVER!!!!!!!!!

What a blessing to know we can pour out our heart to the Lord!
Psalms 62:5-8 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

  2. Getting closer!
What a tremendous comfort we have in the wounds of Jesus! Praying in Seattle right now!
Isaiah 49:13-16a Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted. But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me. Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands...

  3. Getting really close! Hope you have a fantastic time!!!!!!!!!!!
Know that you're in my thoughts and prayers!
Lamentations 3:21-25 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

  4. HAPPY WEDDING DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope it all went well!
    Lifting up prayers right now!
Psalms 20:5-7 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions. Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

  5. So can you breathe for a bit now?
Hope this beautiful Gospel passage gives you comfort! Praying!
Titus 3:4-7 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
