It has been brought to my attention by an anonymous commenter that I made a bit of a faux paux in my post yesterday. So, just in case anyone out there reading this is not up to date on the family, let me give you a brief rundown. I'd love to add pictures to go along with names and descriptions, but, since I'm not on my own puter, with access to my own pictures, you'll just have to imagine us all in our utmost glory! : )
We'll just go from oldest to youngest of family. I'm not going to go into detail about the family who does not live in the immediate area or who we don't have lots of interactions with. Goodness.... if I did that, we'd all be here until we were too old to do anything other than read this endless blog!
So, first there is my mom. Granny, as she is known to us. Granny June as she is known to a lot of people. We live right next door, or across the way, to her. She lives with Chief, he mighty companion dachshund, likes to golf, line dance, and has recently taken up Zumba and pilates.
I live right next door to my mom. (See above for more information there! hehee) I'm married to Bruce, who is currently residing in Pennsylvania (yes, the state) and working in the oil fields. I work in the office for a local doctor, sew, sing and dance not very well (but do so often in the privacy of my own home) and manage to keep life interesting by usually managing to have unique things happen to me on a regular basis. (Should you ever want a really, really good laugh, as me sometime about the cat litter/shower story.)
My oldest daughter's name is Amber. She got married last August to my son in law Dustin. The live in Denmark, Iowa. Dustin works for the railroad and Amber is a CNA. They are the proud parents of my first "grand puppies"!
My oldest son is Eric. He got married in Oct. of 2010 to Candice. Eric works for the railroad and Candice works for a dentist. They live out in the country between here and there. They are the one's who are expecting grand baby #1 in July. If you think we are all not excited about that event, you are wrong!
Next is Amy. Amy is the one who's wedding is 2 months from yesterday. She is marrying Chris. Chris and Amy live in Iowa City. They will be moving to Des Moines after the wedding, where Chris already has a job lined up. He will be graduating from the U of Iowa in May and will be some kind of computer geek accountant. Amy just got her degree in Volunteer Management. We are also quite excited about their upcoming wedding!
Then there are "the boys". Jordan is 14, will be 15 in June, and is a drummer. There is a full set of drums residing in the room above my living room. Sigh. He thinks that he should be allowed to drive more often than he does. I, so far, am winning the battle of how often he gets to drive with his learners permit.
Jonah is 13 and plays the saxophone. Yes, we are band people in this house. And, yes, having two teenage boys involves lots of unique to teenage boys language/arguments/humor. It also means video games, Ipods, dirty socks, and, thankfully, someone else that I can have take out the cat litter and mow the grass!
We also share our home with 2 cats and 2 dogs. Buddy and Chester are the dogs. Buddy is a little-ish, red-ish part papillon, part dachshund cutie pie who loves to cuddle under blankets and take naps on my lap. Chester is a medium sized fella, with the disposition of a saint. He loves to lie in the sun and roll in the grass. Both dogs are rescue dogs.
Taltos is the oldest cat. We adopted him when his owner couldn't take him to his new home. Taltos is also known as the Velcro kitty, as he stuck by my side, almost literally, when I was sick with cancer. Jojo is probably about a year old. She showed up at our door last spring/early summer and has been here ever since. She, in keeping with the theme or animals here, has become quite a loving, cuddling critter.
So, there you have it. We are having a wedding in the family in 2 months, and we are having a baby in the family in about 3 months, but they are not happening to the same people! Amy and Chris are getting married. Eric and Candice are having the baby. And, with any luck, I've managed to dig myself out of that hole! : )
Thanks for the update on the family! Always good to keep everyone straight!

Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.
