A break from my afternoon

Ahhhhhhhh...... This has been my first afternoon home alone for weeks.  I've been home for less than 3 hours.  The kitchen is clean, dishes are washed, laundry is being done, vacuuming has been going on, furniture moving has taken place and I am now in that nifty recliner giving my back and my knee a break!  Whew!  This will probably be my only afternoon home alone this week, so I'm taking advantage of it!  : )

Yesterday was a rough day for one of my co-workers.  I was home, getting ready to go pick up Jonah, when I got a call telling me that, at that point, they thought that perhaps 2 small children had been killed in an apartment fire.  My co-worker is the Godmother of those children.  It turned out that not 2 children were killed, but that the baby, a little girl, was.  The loss of property in that fire was horrific, but the loss of that little girl is beyond imagine.  She was only about 6 months old.  My co-worker had just celebrated Christmas with the little girl and her family the day before the fire.  As devastated as my co-worker is, it's had to fathom how the parents feel.  I don't personally know the family, but I sure am sending my prayers to them and am supporting my co-worker in her grief.  I'm also thanking God over and over again that I have 5 happy, healthy children and that my family is safe.

Yesterday was also the by far coldest day of our winter so far.  A brutal, bitter 10 degrees yesterday morning.  It never did get above freezing.  Today it's a wonderfully, sunny, balmy 46 degrees!  Nice enough that I didn't even break out the winter coat today.  : )  I'm liking today's weather and the weather in the immediate forecast!

Still lots and lots of things to be done around here.  I'd best finish up my break and get back to it!  I hope that you are all safe and happy and that you all stay that way!

Know that you're in my thoughts and prayers!
Isaiah 43:1-3a But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel...

Psalms 59:16-17 But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble. Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.
