After work yesterday I came home full off some pent up grrrrr-i-ness. Not from work. Not from anything here at all actually. However,,,, that grrrrrr-i-ness fired me up something fierce! I did laundry and I cleaned. I moved boxes and hauled trash. I filled closets and cabinets. I was on a mission. I got more Christmas decorating done. Lo and Behold, when I came downstairs this morning it was to find the Ditchin still nice and clean, looking festive, and the laundry room without mountains of items needing washed, for the first time since Thanksgiving. (Lynn..... I've been meaning to tell you that I love the Ditchin name! I'm using it!!) I'm not quite so grrrrrrrr this morning, but I'm still fired up. Something or other is going to be done with the 16 chairs today. I may even do some baking/goodie making. Fire up the cd player, Dawn's heading to the kitchen!!! : )
The boys are gone this weekend. They are on Candice duty. It's the first weekend with Eric gone and Candice was in no mood to spend it alone. Besides, Roxy the Great Dane is pouting about Eric being gone, and will probably benefit from some boy time. The plan for them is to have a Harry Potter movie marathon and hang out. Which means that I can spend quality time alone in my kitchen!
Amy has a new job. This is Chris's description of what that entails: "forest builder dweller amazon person". In Iowa? Wow! : ) Actually, Amy is going to be doing some conservation work starting in February. Based out of........ Ames. : ( Chris will be in Iowa City finishing up his schooling. Amy will be a forest dweller in the wilds of central Iowa. (That's my girl!) New plan for them. Chris in Iowa City, Amy around Ames. Not the permanent plan, but a temporary adventure. I'm guessing the cats will stay in Iowa City, since they really aren't geared to the forest amazon type of world!
Amber and Dustin are finally residing in their new house! Hot diggity! I haven't even managed to get up there and see the new carpet and furniture, but I will! Maybe my energy level will stay up, up, up for a while and I can get lots of things accomplished!
This week was kind of grrrrrrr-y. We got the house in Bode dumped back in our laps without warning. (All of this stuff that we hauled down here and that has been cluttering my house since Thanksgiving could still be sitting in Bode, in the house that we own ~ again. So darn frustrating. And grrrrrrr-y. But, it is what it is. Paying for two houses is going to be a challenge, but it's what has to be done.
Ok.... gonna see if I can go make some more progress in this house and see what damage I can do in the kitchen! Hopefully I won't make a bigger mess than what I had before! : )
For a second I thought you'd hit the wrong key then it hit me! I made up that word! Nice to know the old gray matter can come through now and then! And oh it's too bad Bode isn't closer to Atlantic! I have a friend who keeps renting houses and they keep selling them out from under her! She would LOVE a place to call home!
ReplyDeletePraying as always!
Galatians 4:3-6: Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
The Lord is with you right now, lifting you up, giving you strength! Always praying!
ReplyDeleteIsaiah 40:28-31 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
These words are always so very comforting to me! Praying!
ReplyDeleteJohn 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
As we approach Christmas may your thoughts turn toward why this Babe was born! Praying!
ReplyDeleteJohn 3:14-17 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
