Random-ness

Despite the fact that I haven't posted in ages... sorry about that!... Life, and all of it's aspects, continue to roll right along here in the River Hills.   Briefly, here are some things that have happened since my last post!

It snowed here in the River Hills.  It didn't stay, but it did snow.  Sigh.  'Nough said.

That time change happend.  Good grief.  I'm not sure I will ever understand that theory or reasoning behind the time changes.   Takes me longer every year to adjust!

Everyone, and I do mean everyone alive, got older.  It's true!  Really!  You may not feel older, but you are!  And, truly, that is not such a bad thing!  : )

Thanksgiving and Christmas are now rolling at top speed towards us.  Are you ready?  I. Am. NOT!!!  Do I have a turkey?  Nope.  Do I have my Christmas shopping done?  Nope.  Heck, my decorations are all still up on the flatlands.  Not that I need decorations to celebrate the holidays, but they sure do provide something nicer to look at than the winter-ish stuff outside!  I'm so not ready for the holidays this year.  I'm not sure why, but that's the way it is.  It will be what it will be.

The kiddos are all doing well.  Amber and Dustin are getting close to being done with their new house.  They might even be moved in there before Christmas!  They've been working on it for almost 3 months now... which means that they've been married for almost 3 months now!... and it is looking great!

Eric and Candice are maybe, maybe, maybe done adopting dogs!  They are up to 4 of them now.  2 Great Danes..... Roxie and Rifle.  1 Dachshund.... Roscoe.  And now 1 Beagle.... Copper.  I know!  Isn't it shocking that they didn't name the Beagle something that started with an R????   Candice has been hanging out with the boys lately, too.  Last weekend was an all night Wii fest.  I hear that Eric slept through the whole thing, while the "rowdy" people stayed up until 5:30 a.m.!!!!

Amy and Chris are in Des Moines for another month or so.  (Which means that their cats are still with us!)  Des Moines had snow the other day, too.... and it stayed there!  HA!  Just hope they don't bring it back this way with them when they head back to Iowa City!  I'm counting on a Banana Belt Winter!  heheee

The boys are also doing well.  Jordan is in high school now.  Marching band season is over and it's nice not to have to take him to school at 7 a.m. every day!  Jonah is happy that he is now at least as tall as I am.  Jordan, well, Jordan passed me up long ago.  The only one left taller than he is is Eric, and I'm not sure that Jordan won't pass him up soon as well.  It sure is nice to have tall people around now and then, tho!

Bruce is still working on the new prison project.  I'm not sure how much they will be able to do over the winter, but he likes what he's doing and that is good!

I'm still working part time at the doctor's office.  I love it!  I work with great people and I get to sew most every afternoon at home.  How cool is that????

Another craft show tomorrow.  I think it's the last one for the season.  I hope so.  Since this is my first year of attempting to do this type of thing, it's been kind of exhausting.   I look forward to getting to spend months getting ready for the next season of crafting events!

Time to wake the boys and get us all ready to head out the door.  It's Friday and Friday's are all always awesome days!  My most favorite-est day of the week!

Take care and enjoy getting older!  Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Of course you pick a Friday which is the one day of the week I don't stop blogs to post a new one! Sounds crazy as always around there! No snow here but we did have hail. You can almost see it in my pics on FB.
Know that the Lord is always with you, wrapping His loving arms around you and holding on tight!
Psalms 18:2-6 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid. The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me. In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.
