You would not believe how many times I've tried to update this blog, only to have failure! For a while there I was truly beginning to think that the Computer Gremlins were living in my computer and haunting my world. I'd write, or copy, a post to here, and something odd would happen. A few times my computer completely froze up. To the point of having to shut it down and lose everything. A few times the post would be here, everything would look good, and it would just disappear. I finally decided that something was trying to give me a hint, so I took it. And took a break. However, I've been missing blogging, so am going to try again. If you are reading this, the Gremlins have let me post! : )
How have things been in your world?? It's been busy here! Somewhere in there September turned into October! Wow! Yesterday was Jonah's birthday. I now no longer have any children who are younger than a teenager! That is hard to believe. It's been almost 27 years since I didn't have a child younger than a teenager. Hmmmmmm..... I probably should have more gray hair than I do! But it sure has been fun earning them! : )
I've been sewing/crafting like crazy. I've been to two "craft shows", that weren't really shows. They were events in a park and they let vendors set up. I did not do well, but neither did anyone else who was set up in the parks and trying to sell things. I'm going to go to a real, honest to goodness Craft Show in 2 weeks. That particular show has been around for years, so I'm hopeful that I will do "ok".
I have graduated from bracelets to wall hangings/decorations. I've really got to take some pictures and post them somewhere or other. I'm pretty proud of what I'm managing to accomplish. My sewing experiences/training are pretty limited. Most of what I've learned, I've learned by just doing it. For me, that actually is the best way to learn things. Just do it. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't! But, in this case, it is working well. Just sayin'!
We've also been busy here with marching band activities for Jordan. The last marching competition is tomorrow. The band is going to Muscatine for State Contest. They have done fantastic this year! Lot's of 1st places and honors have been earned. The band rocks!!!
Oh yeah! It's also October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Have you gotten your mammogram yet??? I have! And all is well in my now cancer-free world! Hot diggity! I'm 5 years + out from diagnosis and doing GREAT! So, if I can go through what I went through, you can have a mammogram. Go!!! Right now!!! Don't have insurance to cover it? Let me know. There are programs to help you get a mammogram for free! No excuses! GO!!!!!
Ok, I'm off to conquer a Friday! Home football game for Keokuk tonight and an Iowa game tomorrow!!!! I'll be sewing and yelling and enjoying life Cancer free!!!! Hot diggity!!! : )
I really need to call and schedule mine.
ReplyDeleteHave you heard of etsy? You could try selling everything there.
These verses are so comforting. Continuing to pray!!!!!!!!!
Revelation 21:1-4 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Know that I'm praying so at this end!
ReplyDeleteRevelation 7:16-17 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
It's always amazing to know that the Holy Spirit Himself is praying for you!
ReplyDeleteRomans 8:26-27 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
