There are the usual places to stay that you find in a town this size. The Holdiay Inn, Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn, Super 8.. and some local, smaller motels, nice, but not chain places.

Then, there are couple of absolutely awesome Bed and Breakfasts. The one above is called, I think, River View Bed and Breakfast. Yep, while it looks like there is nothing but air behind that house, there is an incredible view of the Mississippi. The house sits high on a bluff, above the river, on a roadway called Grand Avenue. I remember riding down Grand Avenue when I was a kid. I'd look out the windows and try to decide which extrememly large house I was going to live in when I grew up. I had one all picked out. It's still there, tho I've never even been in that house. I've been in several houses on Grand Avenue. I'm blessed to have seen the view of the river from atop that Bluff, to see the inside of houses that normally I would never get a glimpse of. There are some amazing houses on Grand Avenue.

This is another Bed and Breakfast on Grand Avenue. This one is called The Grand Ann. I've been inside of this one and it is amazing! The house has a rich history. Parts of it were taken from a very, very large estate of a local industrialist, when taxes and such caused places like that massive estate to scale down. Inside is gleaming hardwood and antiques and whimsy, too. In one of the rooms, the coffee table was an old Red Ryder wagon, covered with a plane of glass, with old, classic books in the wagon. It was so fun to see!

So, should you ever decide to visit Keokuk, and aren't going to stay with me!, there are the regular hotels and motels and chain places that you find in a place like this. But, there are options like the two above B & B's that help to give you a sense of history about Keokuk.

Feel free to come visit any ol time!
