Yesterday Mom and Jonah and I had lunch with Candice in Fort Madison (more on that later). On our way home, we stopped and saw Eric and the dogs. Please note the size difference in that above picture between Roxy, the Great Dane, and Rosco, the dauschaund. Rosco is a little fireball. Roxy isn't full grown yet. She is gorgeous, just a beautiful dog, but she's not full grown yet!!! She's huge! And a house dog. And a bed hog. And one of my grand-puppies!
Here is Rosco, waiting to greet us, errrr, bark and growl at us, at the top of the stairs when we stopped to visit.
This sweet girl is Emma. Emma is a Bloodhound and is staying with Eric and Candice while she finds her forever home. She's an outdoor dog and has been raised on a farm. Unfortunately, she had a bad habit of chasing chickens to death. Poor chickens! She wouldn't touch them, just chase them until the died. She is very sweet and friendly. Eric is working with her to learn how to behave on a leash and to sit and such. She just needs a happy, friendly home........
This is the inside of the Ivy Bake Shoppe. If you live in this area and have never eaten there, you are missing out. If you ever get to this area to visit, don't miss this place! Many years ago, it started out in a woman's home, a few friends doing holiday baking to make some extra money. Now, it's one of those places where they menu changes every day, so it's written on a chalk board. It's all homemade and amazingly good. And the desserts... well, that is how they started out, making all those yummy baked goods. That has not changed one bit! Yummmmmy!!!!
As you can see, it's pretty informal at the Ivy. Old time, comfortable, friendly, homey seating and decorations.
Mom and Jonah while we wait for Candice to join us.
I loved the look of this door handle at the Ivy. It fits the place perfectly!
Both boys were back in school today. Yeah! I went job hunting and worked on laundry. Not the world's most exciting day, but a good day none-the-less.
Actually, nothing too darn exciting on the schedule for the whole week. Not until the weekend. The 10 seater table will get a work out on Sunday, when we all gather here. Yeah again! I'm working on my menu and planning on having fun. No special occasion, except that we will all be together. : )
So, I'm sitting here, with Taltos the velcro kitty basically attached to my side. The boys are upstairs. There is an old movie on AMC (The Godfather, actually). Just chillin in the big house, in the little city, in the river hills. Thanks for stopping by to visit!
I love reading these because you sound so happy! Love seeing all the dogs. Hope Emma finds a good home...a chicken-less home!
