My children have all always had wonderful imaginations. And have all been able to play and have fun using those wonderful imaginations. Amber, Eric and Amy used those imaginations "teaching school" to stuffed animals, "rounding up cattle" (or tree branches) with a piece of old rope, or preparing "gourmet meals" from the dirt and gravel from the driveway, to name a few activities. Jordan and Jonah used an attic storage area adjacent to their bedroom as "the Batcave" and pillow cases as "turtle shells". Yep, my kids have always been able to entertain themselves using their imaginations.
So, I shouldn't have been surprised when Jordan and Jonah had some imagination activities the other day. They are both teenage boys now, but I guess their imaginations are growing right along with them. How else would you explain the following???
| Yes, we obviously need a larger pool! However, I'm going to believe that the boys were imagining that they were standing in the surf on a beach somewhere. |
| Hiding behind his brother in for protection in the middle of a rain storm, perhaps? |
| Here, let me help you reel that big fish in? Or, I'll help you cap the oil well, Bro.? |
| I got nuthin for this one. |
| I'm gonna tear up just thinking about that giant fish you're going to bring in.? |
| Watch out for the giant wave in your face!? |
| Hey, quit hogging the hose! (That's what I'd be thinking about now) |
I'm out of captions! I guess my imagination needs a boost. Obviously the boys took a kiddie pool and a hose and had a great time in the back yard. And, obviously, Jordan was pretty much in control of the hose!

We originally bought the little pool for the dogs. You can see who has used it more this year, tho I will say that as long as it's being used, it wasn't a waste of my $7! : )
So is it really that hot there or were they really that bored?
ReplyDeleteAm sharing two verses today. The second verse is God's own interpretation of the first verse. When dealing with all the "floods" and vehement winds beating upon us, there is only One Sure Foundation. Praying so as you face these "floods."
Luke 6:48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
1 Corinthians 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

ReplyDelete1 John 1:1-4 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

ReplyDeletePsalms 32:6-7 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
