Thanksgiving

We are having a 2 house Thanksgiving this year.  Living just "across the way" from my mom allows us to have some awesome options!  We will all gather up late this afternoon.  There will be snacks, games, and desert at Mom's.   The main Thanksgiving Dinner will be here.   (The turkey is already seasoned and roasting away.)    We will have potatoes and yams, rolls, cranberries,  green bean cassarole, scalloped corn and oysters, two different kinds of dressings, apple pie, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, and who knows what all else.  All that yummy, yummy food!  We are blessed to be able to feed our family in such a manner, when there are so many in this world who go without so much.  I am so very thankful.

The very best part of today will be the people who will be here.   I am beyond blessed to have those people in my life.  My mom, living right next door, is the center of our family.  She teaches us how to laugh and share joy and enjoy life.   My kids are the best part of me by far.  They are all giving and generous and kind and wonderful people in their own right.  The people who my older kids have chosen to share their lives with are reflections of themselves..... they only add good to our family.  I am thankful that Bruce is a part of my life and my husband.  He means as much to me as the rest of my family, only in a different way.

My friends are awesome, almost a part of my family!

I love my family and friends beyond what I can write and more than I can ever show.  Each of you, from Mom next door, to Lee and family in Oregon, to family in Colorado, Kansas, Maryland, Wisconsin, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky and all points in between,  you are all very special to me.  I am blessed to have you all in my lives.  Thank you for all you have done for me over the years.  I love you all.

There are things to do here today.  Things to cook.  Games to play.  Football to watch!  I hope that you all have a very happy blessed wonderful Thanksgiving!

Know that I'm still here praying!
Psalms 62:7-8 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

  2. Praying!
Lamentations 3:21-25 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

  3. Continuing to pray!
Psalms 34:17-19 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

Psalms 34:4, 6-7 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. (6-7) This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

  5. Hope this beautiful Gospel passage gives you comfort! Praying!
Titus 3:4-7 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

  6. Lifting up prayers right now!
Psalms 20:5-7 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions. Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

  7. What comforting verses! Praying!
Psalms 23:1-3 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

  8. Praying in Seattle!
Psalms 23:4-6 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
