Jonah is home with me this weekend. He doesn't usually get strep throat, but this time it decided to visit him and ruin a 3 day weekend! Poor kid. Jordan went to St Louis with band and had a great time yesterday. Jonah suffered through school and got to come home and be declared sick, put on meds, and not allowed to go to his dad's with Jordan. The plan was to let Jonah go today, after being on the meds for 24 hours, but that isn't going to happen. Poor kiddo woke up this morning with a temp of 102 and even more sick than he was yesterday. Grandma is going on a popsicle run for us later and he and I are settled in for the day, if not the weekend.
Mom and I got curtains for the diningroom yesterday. That room, with the 10 chair table, is looking awesome! I have another room, between the kitchen and the diningroom, that I haven't even begun to do anything with. For one thing, I have no furniture at all to go into that room! (Did I mention that this is a rather, um, large house???) I think I'm going to be searching garage sales and used furniture stores and such for some older, unusual storage pieces to be put into that room. There is not a lot of storage in this house, but we are managing. Still, I can picture that room with some cool, unique storage pieces, covered in pictures and hand made crafty things and maybe a single chair to sit and take it all in. Gonna be a while before that room is ready for that though! Right now, it is home to the cat litter box. It has a long ways to go!
I'm not sure what will get done around here today. Jonah did just tell me that he is feeling better than he was when he woke up. The joy of Tylenol! Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in today and he will really start to get better. He and I may spend a lot of time bonding on the couch today. Buddy and Taltos are making sure that we don't have too much extra room on the couch! They seem to feel that they need to be involved in all activities that involve sitting on the couch or in a comfy chair! In fact, they also seem to think that there is no need for me to ever sleep alone, too! Good thing that they are cute and that we love them!
I'd best get back to my nursing duties now. Hopefully he will feel truly better soon. Thanks for checking in!
PLEASE don't catch anything yourself!
